What is streamlined visa processing?

Streamlined visa processing can be obtained for certain prospective students of participating education providers. Student visa applications that are lodged with a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) from a participating education provider in Australia for areas such as bachelors, masters or doctoral degrees or an eligible exchange programmes are assessed as they are a lower immigration risk (similar to the current Assessment Level 1) apart from of the applicant's country of origin.

Course packaging and eligibility for Streamlined visa processing

Students expecting to bridge their main course of study with a foundation course are acceptable for streamlined visa processing if:

  1. - For each course within the package contains the Confirmation Of Enrolment holds by the students.
  2. - The major courses of the study includes Bachelor degree ,Masters degree by coursework (subclass 573), a Masters degree by Research or Doctoral degree (subclass 574)
  3. - The key course of study is offered by a participating university
  4. - The preliminary courses like an ELICOS, foundation or other pathway course (for example, bridging course or vocational educational course) that are prerequisite to or allow the student to initiate their main course of study
  5. - The beginning course must be provided by an educational business partner designated by the student's university providing the main course.

Eligibility

You must meet all of the following requirements to be eligible for streamlined student visa processing:

  • At the time of submitting your student visa application, Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) with a university or non-university must be with you and also the higher education provider must participating in the streamlined visa processing arrangements for a:
    • -Bachelor degree
    • -Masters degree
    • -Doctoral degree
    • -Non-award university student exchange program
    • -Non-award study abroad program.
  • If a student enroll in a of a packaged study program, all preliminary courses must provided by an education provider who is participating in the streamlined visa processing arrangements or a nominated educational business partner of that provider.  
    Note: You will not be qualified for streamlined visa processing, if you combine a non-award university student exchange or study abroad program course with any preliminary course(s) and will be assessed according to the applicable assessment level.

And also you are not qualified If you are sponsored by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or the Australian Department of Defence on a Foreign Affairs or Defence Sector visa (subclass 576)
